That's the extent of my French for the most part... although I have become quite proficient in ordering baguettes, croque monsieurs, and French Fries. We're on our WDW Radio Adventures by Disney river cruise on the Seine, and to say it's been magical (and delicious) is an understatement! I've really come to love river cruising, and if you missed this one, don't worry... we're working on another one - I'm literally working with Beci from Mouse Fan Travel right now on our next idea(s), so stay tuned (I'm not saying "Christmas Markets" but I'm also not not saying Christmas Markets) 😉 And if you want to follow along on this Adventure, I've been sharing posts and stories on my Instagram I'm sorry that I wasn't able to get a podcast out before I left, but it's been a hectic time, and I go right from Paris to Portsmouth, NH to present at a conference, but I promise to get back on schedule! 🎧 In the meantime, I invite you to scroll back (way back!) and check out some older episodes you may have missed! You can find them all on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or at WDWRadio.com. Disney and France: A Timeless ConnectionWalt Disney himself had a lifelong love affair with France. He first visited Paris in the 1910s while serving with the Red Cross, and he returned many times throughout his life even bringing his family for extended stays. Walt was captivated by French art, history, and storytelling, which inspired many of Disney’s most beloved films. Speaking of France, it has served as a backdrop for some of Disney's most iconic (and my favorite) movies and stories... which one is your favorite?
Even Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty draw from French fairy tales, as Charles Perrault’s versions are the ones Disney brought to life on screen. And of course, Disney’s connection to France extends into the parks themselves, with Disneyland Paris... the most visited tourist destination in Europe... bringing Disney storytelling full circle in the heart of France. And of course, we're heading there for a couple of days after the Adventures by Disney is over. Phantom Manor I'm coming for you!!! But what I love about Adventures by Disney journeys is that you aren't just connected to the stories... you step into the real places that inspired them. From Parisian boulevards to Loire Valley castles, you’ll see why Walt found such magic (and cheese!) here. We also had a remarkable day visiting Normandy. It was a VERY powerful experience to say the least... I shared on my Instagram the incredible opportunity and unexpected privilege of being inside Notre Dame during mass... a (very) emotional, humbling experience I’ll never forget.
