đź’ˇ 5 Things I Re-Learned About Entrepreneurship

Hey Reader!

I just got back from Boise after attending Craft & Commerce, a conference hosted by the team at Kit, the email platform I use and love. And let me tell you… it wasn’t just another business event.

It was a much-needed reminder.

A reminder of why we do this entrepreneurship thing and what moves the needle.

Yes, the Idaho potatoes were incredible (seriously), but what I really brought home was clarity and connection.

So I wanted to pass that along to you...some quick takeaways I think will resonate, and a few new tools I discovered that I’m excited to try in my business. I figured they might be helpful for you, too.

đź’ˇ 5 Things I Learned (and Re-Learned) at Craft & Commerce:

  1. We can’t do this alone.
Success doesn’t happen in a vacuum. It’s about the people you surround yourself with and those who challenge you, cheer for you, and walk beside you when the path gets hard. (It’s exactly why I started Momentum almost a decade ago.)
  2. Relationships matter more than reach.
Your next big break probably won’t come from an algorithm. It’ll come from a conversation. We’re all in the relationship business, so serve first and give generously. You're not always going to get something in return, and that's okay.
  3. Experiment your way forward.
There’s no perfect plan. There’s just forward motion. In the world of entrepreneurship, we learn by testing and tweaking continuously. You don’t need to have it all figured out… you just need to start and then keep going.
  4. In-person events are transformational.
There’s something about showing up face-to-face at an event. It's how big ideas spark and real connections are made. I love what happens online, but the (dare I say) momentum starts in real rooms with real people.
  5. Surround yourself with the right people.
...The kind who challenge you, lift you up, and remind you of who you are. Find the people who believe in what you’re building, even on the days when you don’t.

🛠️ New Tools I Discovered:

  1. Mentimeter: Live audience polling and Q+As
  2. List Gadget: Email marketing polls, leaderboards and other tools to increase clicks and engagement
  3. superwhisper: AI powered talk to text

As always, thanks for being here! Please do not hesitate to reach out if there's anything I can do to support you.

To momentum and what’s next,

Lou

If you're launching something new, scaling what you've built, or simply trying to figure out your next move,...
